Our Programs

Through the Montessori philosophy, we follow the child-centered approach in teaching by carefully observing each child and guiding them to become confident, independent, and successful individuals. We offer a variety of programs for our students, and we aim to enrich their lives through each step of their development.

Building the foundation
Creating the perfect environment for infants is essential to their growth and development. Our infant classroom is led by patient and compassionate caregivers that go above and beyond to ensure that your baby creates secure and trusting relationships with their peers and their teachers. It is important that infants form secure attachments with not only their family, but with the individuals who will be care for them each day. This secure attachment will allow the infant to feel comfortable and safe. Mighty Sprouts Montessori understands how hard it is to leave your infant in someone else’s care, which is why we offer several ways of communicating with your child’s teachers and our administration team! We are here to provide your family with outstanding childcare services and will not stop until our families are satisfied.

All about our infants
We know first-hand how much time, energy, love and attention infants require. With our low teacher to infant ratio, we are able to provide the one-on-one attention that each infant needs to thrive! Every interaction that an infant encounters is an opportunity to grow. With our nurturing teachers, our stimulating environment and our individualized care, we can ensure that our infants will have the skill set and foundation for positive development!
Curriculum

Our infant curriculum creates a solid foundation for your little one’s development. Our teachers encourage each infant to reach their milestones, to foster independence, coordination and self-confidence. During this stage, it is important for our infants to be able to eat, sleep and play according to their own individual timetable.

Our nurturing and safe environment allows our infants to explore the world around them and learn through discovery. Specialized activities are created for the children to use all five senses. Through careful observation, adjustments are made to support the unique needs of each child. Our program focuses on: Fine Motor, Gross & Core Motor, Cognitive Development, Social Emotional and Language.

Understanding a toddler

During this stage, the child is evolving at a rapid speed. From one moment to the next, they emerge from 2 to 3 word sentences to a full conversational level. Between 18 months to 3 years of age their physical, social, emotional and cognitive development is much faster than any other age group. In their eyes, their world is changing minute by minute. With our independent and individualized toddler program, we are equipped to help them reach each of their milestones at their own pace.

Guiding a toddler

Our curriculum offers independent learning, cognitive development and the ability to think critically. Our learning materials are carefully chosen to meet the needs of each of our toddlers’ needs. With our teacher’s acting as the child’s guide, they are able to fully observe the level of each toddler and construct the appropriate environment for the child to master every skill set within our program. At this stage, our students will explore the different elements of the Montessori education including but not limited to: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language Arts, Mathematics and Culture.

Our toddler classroom

Our classroom is specifically designed to offer our toddlers a warm and welcoming space in which they can freely explore. A wonderful aspect of the Montessori philosophy is children get to choose the materials that they wish to work with. This allows them to explore their own interests at their own pace. The ability of being able to freely explore their classroom provides them with a sense of belonging, builds self-confidence and fosters independence. The students learn their environment, where all of the materials belong and gain a sense of order. This order provides a sense of security and understanding that they’re responsible for returning these materials to their respective place. It is proven that toddlers thrive in such an environment and we pride ourselves in the ability to create such a space!

Pre-Kindergarten environment

The classroom is created to meet the developmental needs of each child by providing a variety of choices that engage the child’s natural curiosity and intellect. Our program emphasizes the process of discovery and exploration of the world through multi-sensory materials. Our materials bring abstract principles to life, there are objects to sort and sequence, beads to add or subtract, letters to touch and trace, globes to feel and explore, scents to smell and match and real dishes to wash. Our students engage in meaningful activities. They practice tying their own shoes and hanging their own coats. They practice good manners and benefit from valuable social interactions.

Core Curriculum

Our core curriculum is broken down into 7 elements: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language Arts, Culture, History & Geography and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math). Even with the mixed age, all of our curriculum follows the level of each student. As an example, some students focus on the Preschool beginning stages of Math and some students focus on the Kindergarten level of Math.
Practical Life
Real life scenarios and activities that will develop a sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. Through these activities, they will develop fine motor skills and the ability to concentrate.
Sensorial
Our unique sensorial materials encourage students to use their five senses to develop classification and discrimination skill sets.
Mathematics
Hands on abstract approach to number concept, quantity and operations.
Language Arts
Focus on perceptual-motor, pre-reading and pre-writing readiness skills. Using our developmental Montessori milestones, our students continue to master these skill sets as they work through these materials.
Culture
Our students are given the opportunity to explore the larger world. Through cultural explorations, our students learn about the people, their values, their traditions, their heritage, their terrain and the animals of each continent.
History & Geography
Develops an understanding of the world we live in by recognizing, acknowledging and celebrating both our past and present.
STEAM
Our unique STEAM additive offers our students the ability to engage in activities using our tech table, interactive smart board and traditional desktop computers. The students are exposed to different science experiments and activities. They are encouraged to think outside-the-box when working on art projects or engineering activities or foster additional mathematical skills by playing math games with their peers.
